Lodging Requirements

Vaccination Policy

For the health and safety of our boarding pets, all cats and dogs must be current on required vaccinations and Proof of Vaccination must be provided to The Lodge at least 48 hours prior to the first day of boarding.  We require that boarders be vaccinated ten days or more prior to boarding. Please note: for dogs, the first influenza, vaccination must be given twenty-one days prior to boarding.

Required vaccinations for dogs are:

  • Rabies
  • Canine Combo
  • Kennel Cough
  • Influenza (H3N8 & H3N2)

Required vaccinations for cats are:

  • Rabies
  • FvRCP

We do not accept home vaccinations for any pets. Vaccinations must be administered under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian or recognized rescue organization.

Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital holds monthly LOW COST VACCINATION CLINICS on the third Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.  This is a good opportunity to ensure that your pet is vaccinated, healthy, and ready to board.

We prefer that proof of vaccination is provided at the time the boarding reservation is made.  If a pet arrives to board and does not have proof of vaccination, he/she will not be allowed to stay.  You may fax your proof of vaccination to us at 661-822-4325.  Proof of vaccination must be furnished at least 48 hours in advance arrival.    (A reminder for a vaccination is not considered proof of vaccination.)

Vaccinations will not be given during a pet's boarding stay and are required at least 14 days prior to any pet stay.
